I’m still awesome, I hope you are too

July 20, 2009

And I would like to dedicate this post to Michael Sharp, who continues to hound me for not writing. Here was the deal, at least in my own head. I would write everyday for a year, which I did (though I only came out to 360 days instead of 365, which probably had something to do with my trip to Haiti, but who knows) about what was awesome. I’ve been trying figure out what to do next, with several ideas running through my head. I’ll let you all know the next big idea soon enough, probably even tomorrow. In an attempt to catch you up on some of the awesome things since my last post:

An awesome 30th Birthday surprise party (for me!!!)

My Big Grandma’s (not surprise) 80th Birthday party!

Mullets galore at the Maryville Fire District Homecoming, a.k.a. The Hicknic

This guy was at a political rally in downtown Clayton.

Janelle and I went on a float trip and then to Kansas City. More to come on that in future posts undoubtedly.

Joe McGill and I wore the exact same shirt one day. It's good to know Joe has good fashion sense.

In a great evuncular event, I became an uncle for the 4th time. Maria Joy Muehleisen was born on 7/17/09 at 8:08am. 22 1/2" and 9lb. 5oz. What a baby!!

Janelle got me 6 tickets to the Rascals game last Saturday. The Barnards, Carlins and us had a fantastic time, even if we were sans funnel cake.

A whole bunch of celebritay died. Not the least of which was Billy Mays, who ruined my 30th birthday.

In a sad note, Kramer (not Cosmo from Seinfeld) died. We did sit and remember him for a few moments. Here is a great picture of him:

Isn't he adorable? RIP buddy.

So, hopefully I’ve caught you up on at least a few of the awesome things that have been going on with me, I hope you’re happy Michael.

Stay tuned for some big news soon!!!

Coming Soon!!!

July 2, 2009

I just wanted to let you all know that I haven’t forgotten about the blog. How could I? I’ve been writing it for a whole year now. I started it the day after my 29th birthday, so I have no idea why I’m not at day 365. Oh well. I know I did it.

But here is what I wanted to let you all know. There is some really fun stuff in store. I have big plans, I tell you. All those pictures I took of myself everyday? There is a plan. What about this blog? There is a plan. More new stuff? On it’s way. For real. You’ll hear it here first, along with Twitter, Facebook, and just about everywhere else I can tell people about it.

So, just hold on, much, much more awesomeness to come!!

That's what I look like when I'm thinking about awesome things.

Day 360

June 28, 2009

For those that don’t know, and thanks to Facebook, that is very few of you, today I became an adult. No longer the care free life of my 20s, no, now I have begun my 4th decade of existence. And I did it in style, thanks especially to my mother and girlfriend, with a surprise party!! Hooray!!

Lots of friends and family for food and fun. Now, were off to play trivia. Here I am with a new shirt and a clock that says, “I love being awesome”, which is true. So thanks to all my friends and family for a great birthday!!

Day 359

June 27, 2009

So Janelle and I were at a wedding today. I know, you’re thinking, “ben, I know weddings are awesome, but the awesomosity of the day?” And you would be right. This wedding was very awesome (congrats Tom and Christy!!) but I found todays awesomeness when I used the restroom in the church. There it was, in the hall, a drinking fountain with a foot pedal. When is that not awesome? Never. You don’t even have to use your hands, in fact, you are encouraged not too. That is great.

Off to the reception at the Lemp mansion, be awesome today!!!

Day 358

June 26, 2009

I ate the awesomosity. So did Janelle. It was delicious.

At least I thought it was delicious.

At least I thought it was delicious.

While the food was awesome. even better was that I ordered it online, then had the option to pick it up or have it delivered!! How sweet?!!!?!!!?! (Answer: Very). J got the garlic chicken, while I opted for the Kung Pao chicken. I had an egg roll, she had some crab rangoon. We both got fried rice. All this was only $13.15!! And it was all delicious.

So, if you live anywhere nead South Grand (and Humphrey), you’ve gotta check out New St. Louis Wok, I highly recommend it!!

Me after enjoying my wonderful chinese food. And after narrowly losing an Ebay auction for an iPod, since mine has officially bit the dust, unless you know how to repair an iPod hard drive.

Day 358

June 25, 2009

Tonight while surfing some of my favorite sites, I found a link to a site I had not seen before, but wil go on that “check regularly” list. It’s called, “There, I Fixed It“. Let me give you an example that is almost as awesome as my car door.

And I didn't have to punch any extra holes in my truck.

And I didn't have to punch any extra holes in my truck.

There are all kinds of great time wasting pictures on this site, so don’t click the link unless you’ve got a few minutes. You might even get a few ideas on how to fix some problems around your house.

Getting all psyched up for our basketball game in a little bit. Go Cable Guy!!

Day 357

June 24, 2009

Today’s awesomosity is directly related to a Twitter/Facebook status I put up yesterday. It was a good status day, lots of comments and replies to my posts, which makes me happy. So, the post I am referring simply said, “Turn around, bright eyes.” Some of the comments recited the lyrics, in fact, one of my friends wrote out the whole song. But one of the comments was a link to a literal version of the video. If you haven’t seen one of these, check them out, they are very funny.

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Losing my Religion

Soul 2 Squeeze

Arms Wide Open

Under the Bridge

and my personal favorite so far: Seperate Ways.

I hope you enjoy these, and I hope your day has been and will continue to be, Awesome.

I'm all sweaty from playing "Scoot your butt" at Jr. High at church. Fun game.

Day 356

June 23, 2009

Today’s awesomosity was my lunch, because it’s been a while. And I’m not goona sing the song. And you shouldn’t either. Ever. Instead, I’ll just say, “Hey Happy, can I get one of those?”

Yes, my Italian BMT was incredibly delicious (and probably more nutricious than what I usually eat) and filling.

More people should put cheese baked onto their bread.

Talk about a hole-in-one.

Talk about a hole-in-one.

So, next time your hungry, grab yourself a delicious sandwich. Just don’t ever sing that song.

Ever.

Anyone.

Again.

Ever.

Now, go be awesome!!

Day 355

June 22, 2009

And were down to the last 10 days until 1 year!! I would like to start getting opinions as to what you all think I should do with this blog, or any other possibility of a blog, next year. Please comment.

Over the weekend, I was watching Channel 9.4, PBS’ Create channel. There are a lot of cool things on there. The show I was watching was realted to the website, www.makezine.com. This is essentially a dork hangout, but they make some crazy cool stuff. I saw a guy that had taken the ink out of his printer, put n carmel food coloring, and could print any picture on a latte. Right? Crazy!

So, I went to the website, and after searching around a little bit, found intstructions to make a potato gun. Not just any potato gun, but one powered by air. Read all about it here.

If you make on of these, totally let me know, I wanna come play with it.

Boy, I need to cut my hair again, don't I?
